What is a Healthy Lifestyle?

I believe that a healthy lifestyle...

  • Supports all aspect of your wellness

  • Series of healthy habits

  • Unique to each individual

4 Pillars of a Healthy Lifestyle

Physical Activity

A healthy lifestyle is an active one with daily physical activity.

Nutrition

A healthy lifestyle incorporates a nutritious diet that you enjoy and meets your nutritional needs.

Stress Management

A healthy lifestyle incorporates practices that manage and reduce mental/physical stress, and increase joy and happiness.

Sleep & Recovery

A healthy lifestyle creates sufficient time for our bodies to rest and recovery, mentally and physically.

My Philosophy & Approach

I believe these are fundamental approaches and mindsets for lifelong fitness and wellness.

You do YOU.

One-size doesn’t fit all. There is no cookie cutter workout, nutrition plan, or lifestyle that works for everyone.

“Start where you are. Use what you have. Do what you can.” ~ Arthur Ashe

It's all an experiment.

There are no failures or setbacks. Only learning opportunities to discover what works and what doesn’t.

No restrictions. No deprivation.

“All or Nothing” approach rarely lasts. Use a sustainable, practice-based approach to build healthy habits into your life.

“Everything in moderation, including moderation” ~ Oscar Wilde

Focus on positive behaviors.

Don’t worry about your “unhealthy” habits. Let’s build lots of healthy habits first.

Do what you love and/or value.

Nothing you hate or you feel is worthless is going to last.

Motivation & willpower are...meh.

Leverage the moments you are super motivated to strategize for the moments you’re not.

Make things easy, convenient and a routine.

Things that are hard-to-do, inconvenient, or not part of our routine rarely becomes a habit.

Celebrate the consistent baby steps.

Leaps and bounds are exciting, but they tend to come in infrequent bouts. Focus on the small practices that lead to big lasting results.
